Yes, martyrdom is real. It will continue and grow worse, until the Lord returns. Rev chap 6 ought to give us pause. One should gather his thoughts before he creates a blog posting.
I don’t have to gather my thoughts too long to say with complete assurance… wicked religious ideas create wicked religious behavior. Islam, contrary to foolish, duped American PC worshipping opinion is not a “beautiful hijacked religion,” rather it is a religion suited for thugs, misfits and truth-haters.
Did you ‘watch’ in person? I certainly hope not — how horrid. One of my favorite ‘saints’ per RC anyway is Agapus who was thrown to wild boars/bears three times but did not die. Finally a stone was tied to his ankle and he was tossed into the sea to drown. Martyrdom has always existed; always will…
