Yes! We see Him more clearly when we more clearly see our own depravity. As wretched we are, Christ Jesus is all the more gracious!
It is one thing to see ourselves as we are apart from Christ…that really does not require any faith. To see the truth of who a believer is ‘in Him’ is the struggle of faith that most believers face. In myself, my old fallen nature, I am desolate; but in Him, I have a new nature and am a new creation and have a righteousness not my own. It is not hard to see the horrors of my lostness, but that is not who I am any longer. I have been washed, justified and set free…Thank you Jesus!
Amen to that!
