C.J. Mahaney Successor, Joshua Harris, Resigns from Board of Sovereign Grace Ministries
Harris succeeded the embattled C.J. Mahaney as pastor of the denomination’s flagship church in Maryland. He and the Sovereign Grace board issued a joint statement saying Harris‘ departure from the board was a mutual decision.
Oh, how the mighty are falling? Apparently, Joshua disagreed with the SGM board statement regarding Mahaney. Let’s hope this entire mess gets resolved in a timely manner.

I’m thinking that pastors who become – for whatever reason – celebrity preachers are very vulnerable to succumbing to the siren call of those who worship them rather than the Lord God of Heaven. This oft ends up with a people focus in one of myriad forms instead of a Christ-focus.
Pastor describes the role of an elder as he shepherds the local flock. Big name preachers of huge churches are not and cannot be pastors in the biblical sense. Only in title misapplied.
I dont think I understand whats going on in SGM.
