You know what would really be great? If Christians who have national, international influence actually started practicing separation, instead of just preaching about it. “Like a bridge over troubled waters……”
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
James 4:4
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
Luke 6:27-28
We all need humility, kindness, gentleness, and self-control. But we should not be ignorant of the craftiness of the enemy. Horton should be rebuked, not defended. Let us all pray that we may be salt and light. Pray for Ingrid, Chris, and Michael.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
James 3:17-18
When I first look at the picture, assuming I don’t know the people or who the statute represents in it, I think of two people being at an event together with at least one of them being a celebrity. One or both desired a good photo-op to go home and show people: “Look who I was with on …” Or perhaps they were pals and wanted a photo of themselves with the statute to show people when they get home to say look where we were.
Then to know who the two men are and who the statute represents just sends shivers down my spine. One at least I expected to know better than to associate himself with one who is destroying the Gospel church and leading the masses astray. How many people who trusted in Michael Horton that were on the fence concerning Rick Warren and his false teachings will now go running to the Purpose Driven things now that all “appears” to be on the up and up with this cordial gathering as shown in the photo? Is it pride one seeks to stand on the street corner and shout to people what they are doing. Either ask questions and seek to “straighten out” privately, or give way to the appearance that you are endorsing said ideas even though that may not be your intent.
Recently I went to an event with a friend and someone to my surprise came on stage who was from Saddleback. The person was an invited person to the event. I promptly got up and left and made sure my friend knew as I was leaving I wanted nothing to do with that church or anything/anyone associated with it while making a comment to one of the host as well. To be honest, it didn’t surprise me that this person was at this event as there were some red flags starting to climb the mast. I didn’t want to send the wrong message that I supported them and knew I needed to be separate from it. Praise the Lord.
Don’t be a stumbling block. A single picture is worth a thousand words.
I can’t help but wonder if Warren is seeking some type of “lack of guilt by association” thingy. I’m not sure that getting his picture taken with John Calvin himself would give credibility to Warren given his pragmatic-driven mumbo jumbo of the last 20 years…
Many teachers use pragmatic-mumbo jumbo. Warren embraces a variety of forms of evil and helps popularize teachers who are steeped in the occult. The casual observer will not recognize that.
He is building a church all right, and it includes imams, priests, witches, deeds not creeds, and no respect for the written word of God.

You know, it would, wouldn’t it?
A glimmer of light in a dark week. Thanks.
Where will it end? Maybe Warren could sit in RC’s lap! That would be a great photo op!
Don’t recall RC bowing out of speaking at the Desiring Pragmatism conference last year when Tricky Warning was invited to be the keynote heretic.

to Paul Huston – don’t mean to seem ignorant – but who is RC?
Sproul
RC is the guy who invented the cola, not to be confused with A&W Tozer who invented the root beer.
Horton is sinning by talking a picture with Warren? Really?
Sinning? Who said that?
Atta boy!
Oh look their arms outstretched are making a BRIDGE between them. Ha ha. At least Horton looks slightly uncomfortable.
