Bryant Wright: President–Elect of the SBC
The SBC has a new President in Bryant Wright, senior pastor of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia.

I am tired of big church “pastors” – period. One distinctive of being Baptist not noted on the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church web site is that Baptist are congregationalists. One aspect of this is that we embrace the biblical model of pastor being shepherds, not business executives nor Presbyterian (multiple congregations per elder board). These big churches ALL fall away from this Baptist distinctive – and the people of God are short changed by their leadership.
