Is it an early Aprils Fool ‘joke’ or is this serious? According to the website Sharperiron:
SharperIron has confirmed with Jonathan at Desiring God in Minneapolis that Rick Warren is among the speakers for the 2010 Desiring God National Conference. There will be more details explaining the invitation from DesiringGod.org in the near future

A second website has also claimed confirmation.
I truly, truly (verily!) hope this is not true, but if it is…..

I do not know a great deal about the Desiring God group but this is not an impressive note …
I can imagine the PR campaign for this event saying, ” Hey all you rad dudes and dudettes, are your ears itching? We have just what you desire at our Desiring God Conference. Relevant Rick will be here to tickle your itching ears and twist scripture to make it mean whatever your desire…”
What a sad turn of events. Maybe they can sign Brian McLaren also…
As I posted on DefCon, Warren should be a featured exhibit, on how NOT to pastor.
Piper continues to disappoint.
