And, just because laughter is good for the soul…..
Sacred Sandwich reader J. R. Nerlunker of Bedford, Iowa sent in this photo showing his mule, Molly Jo, wearing the unmistakable handiwork of Coddington Borax, the “Phantom Tagger.” The evidence suggests that the fugitive Borax has fled over the Missouri border and is now continuing his reign of terror against Calvinism and unsuspecting mules throughout the Midwest.
Pretty funny. I enjoy a good Sacred Sandwich every now and again.
Anyone who actually thinks Calvin was a French sissy should read his letter to the King of France. Wow!
Good Day,
I just want to say that some of the humour I find to be a bit offensive. For example, the previous one concerning “who we think of when we hear ‘Calvin’”…implying that our theology is deformed if we don’t immediately think of John Calvin. Well, what, then, do we say to the many millions or Christian worldwide who have not heard of John Calvin, but who love Jesus with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength? I believe that to elevate Calvin to this type of status is blasphemous, unethical, and unloving to our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Also, by the implications of this ‘humour’ and many posts on this blog, what are we to make of the 1500 years between the Resurrection and John Calvin? Were there no Christians after the first couple of centuries A.D.? C’mon, folks, please quit being so “Calvin-o-centric.”
I applaud your faith and I encourage you in your zeal, but please don’t let this cloud Jesus’ command to love one another (other Christians) as He loves His church.
That mule is funny! Since when do Reformed guys have a sense of humor? ; )
