StonewallJacksonsVerse There are few – and I mean very few – books that I would ‘push’ on anyone. But I would not hesitate to pressure you into buying this one. It doesn’t really matter what side of ‘the war’ you were on; if you’re a Christian, Thomas Jonathan “Stonewall” Jackson is your brother in Christ, and it will bless you to get to know him as much as possible now, before you meet him!

I have known brother Rumburg for many years now, and can tell you that anything he writes is spiritual ‘money’. If you have any qualms about the Christianity of Stonewall Jackson, you need to read this book. Seriously, it is ‘off the hook’ good.

This book weaves the life of Jackson around his favorite text of Scripture: Romans 8: 28. The greatness of Jackson as a military general cannot be understood apart from an understanding of his great faith in Christ. Why was he such a bigger-than-life kind of man? He faced the death of many loved ones, but how did he keep his heart from bitterness with God? What was the reason for his victorious death? This volume seeks to answer these and many more questions.

Dr. M. E. Bradford contributed the Afterword, writing with his usual pungent style. Bradford deals with the religious foundation of secession in the South.
