Sadly, this is true. Many want to be part of excitement and activity. Enter suffering and they’re gone. Refer back to the rich, young ruler… He wanted to be cool with the current trend. He found out Jesus was actually serious and be jetted. Same thing happens today. This is why the “come as you are, leave exactly as you were” movements are showing so much activity (Warren, Osteen, Hinn, Bell, McLaren, Jones et. al.)
Activity does not equal committment. The workers at McDonalds are active but only the hamburgers are committed!
