Dan Phillips, of the Pyromaniacs blog, has done an interesting review of Mark Driscoll’s new book (along with Gerry Breshears). In his review, he mentioned an interesting point, namely, that Mark Driscoll is an Amyraldian.
What that means is basically this, that Mark Driscoll rejects limited atonement.
Driscoll’s an Amyraldian. His argument is made with great confidence, Driscoll calls it the "unlimited-limited-atonement" view, and he tries hard to distinguish it from your daddy’s Amyraldianism — but his case falls far short of convincing. Driscoll provides no answer for the question of how people suffer eternally (as he affirms) because of sins for which Jesus already made full atonement. So for all his vaunted "Reformed" cred, Driscoll’s yet another four-pointer. (Online Source)
Well then, Mark Driscoll has problems regarding the Gospel doesn’t he?

“Controversy Creates Cash” is an informative book by Eric Bischoff. Mark Driscoll is an expert in creating controversy.
You should probably listen to his sermon specifically on this topic before jumping to conclusions. He spends an inordinate amount of time explaining his position, along with refutation of opposing views, in this sermon:

I really like Mark Driscoll, but I wish he would really tell us what he thinks… Just kidding, he is opinionated but very thoughtful and genuine in his approach to being a servant of God.
Come on, JT. Driscoll is cool…he has tats! So what is he is an Amarillian; Texans are also cool!
(much sarcasm intended)
One thing that I really hate is the fact that so many will bash a pastor for teaching scriptural truth. To take one persons review of a pastor and then decide based on that if you like him or not is ridiculous. No where does scripture say that hell is not eternal. If it is not, then Jesus is only a Fire Insurance policy. If hell is limited punishment or if there is no hell because of Jesus sacrifice, then why does He say that you must accept Him to receive salvation. You can’t have it both ways.
Who is claiming that hell is not eternal? Limited atonement has nothing to do with hell being eternal or annihilationism, limited atonement or unlimited atonement has to do weather Christ gave his life for every single human being included those who were in hell before his came and making salvation possible for living men. Which this is called unlimited atonement that Arminians hold to that. Or the other view called Limited Atonement which us Calvinist hold on to. That says Christ Atonement is effectual he does not fail. All who he dies for receive eternal life. And Christ gave his life for his elect only. Not every human being.
Unlimited atonement is not scriptural truth. Jesus and scripture is clear he gave his life for the sheep. Not the sheep and goats. I use to listen to mr. Driscoll the more I heard him the less I liked him. His preaching can be anything but meat. And no I am not an old man that does not get him. I was in my mid 20′s when I use to listen to him. He is one confused man. Charismatic continuesism is another area he is in error. I now try to avoid double fallers. And Driscoll falls in that area.
