I know that these excerpts are highly offensive, but many defenders of Driscoll are not aware of his constant and heretical statements. They were extremely difficult for me to read and post. I hope, in the interest of truth, you will post these comments.

Here are some excerpts from Driscoll’s Sermon on the Song of Solomon at the Shepherds Conf.

If so, it is weird, because Jesus keeps making out with me and touching me in inappropriate places. It’s bizarre, Jesus has his hand up my shirt. That doesn’t help the interpretation in any way. Now I’m gay … or highly troubled … or both.

They will say that it is an allegory between Jesus and his bride the church. Which if true, is weird. Because Jesus is having sex with me and puts his hand up my shirt. And that feels weird. I love Jesus, but not in that way.”

As a guy, I do not feel comfortable with Jesus, like you know, kissing me and touching me and taking me to bed. Okay? I feel sort of very homo-erotic about that kind of view of Song of Solomon.

What on earth is wrong with you and people like you?
You would “deck” him? Come on give a better example of how you are more Christ-like than this guy than to openly admit you would disobey Christ right back at him.
The difference between all of us and Christ is great, thanks for the reminder.

Interesting comments, nonetheless for anyone beside Driscoll’s congregation to call for him to step down would (by church polity) be out of line. “The Autonomy of the Local Church” that Baptists and other Free Church sects pride themselves in puts no one in the place of authority to make that call aside from the members of Mars Hill Church (this is just one of the downfalls of church autonomy, not that any model is perfect…)

I was forced out of a pastorate because I took a stand against two church members who decided that it was okay to live together, sleep together, outside the bonds of marriage, than to follow the commands of scripture (the man was one of the door greeters).

Hence, I am not at all surprised that foul-mouth, foul-thinking Mark Driscoll can be elevated to a position of popular notoriety within the SBC. I listened to one of his messages for the first time the other night to see what all the talk was about. After listening to him, I felt like I needed to wash myself from the profaneness of speech that came from this man’s lips. If he had spoken to my wife with the words that he used in this “sermon,”I literally would have decked him.

I have never heard anyone, not even sailors I knew in the Navy who spoke like this man did. I felt like I had been in a cesspool of vileness and needed to go about crying, “Unclean, unclean.” I don’t think we need to stop at eliminating his materials from our bookstores. He needs to be asked to step down from his pulpit and no longer be an evil influence to so many within the body of Christ.

It is not my desire, but I am waiting for the day that it will be revealed that his messages are no less than a manifestation of his private life. I was told by a wise, old, Christian man many years ago that a preacher tends to major on subjects that he himself has trouble with in his own life.

We will see.

Yeah, let’s remove all of Piper’s and Mahaney’s books too. That way we can assure that the MacArthur worshipers get another fun filled generation of unchecked legalism while the next crop of Osteens take center stage and abuse the Gospel in ways that are real – but the good news is…we still get to protect “our” turf from those hipsters who have the audacity to be make young people get really excited about Jesus apart from reading them the full Canons of Dort.

Mark Driscoll isn’t the problem, it’s the years of dead Reformed teaching, all in the “name of truth” while openly hating your neighbor, your enemy, or that Pastor whose bringing young people to Gospel, that’s killing the advance of the Gospel.

Thankfully, God is absolutely sovereign – and yes, he even reigns over those who abuse his sovereignty to satisfy their anger lusts in the name of defending it.

Yes, it did get thrown out, but not before a nice little scolding, not about Driscoll of course, but to those of us who are concerned about his influence in our churches, his books in our stores, his speaking at our schools, etc. I was so very disappointed that Christians who are concerned, trying to inform and warn others, were thought of as maybe spreading slander and not looking unified to the outside, since this was being shown over the internet.(Johnny Hunt’s remarks, I believe.) But Mark, who is continuing to have problems with a filthy mouth, a problem with making sex, smutty, not beautiful, twisting SoS, etc., no scolding of him was heard. They basically stood up for him, and slapped the others on the hand.

The motion could have at least been referred to Lifeway, for their trustees to look into and report back to the convention.

Lifeway caries every emergant book on the planet as well as enough over-priced bible-verse-stamped garbage to coax widows into spending $40 on a fiction white-robed female angel to place on their mantle rather than spending their last seasons of life giving to missions or something related to the kingdom.

There are probably more saved people in Mars Hill than in a typical mainline southern baptist church that has been plagued with decisional regeneration theology.

and the latter half of this scripture:
