I understand about the authors beliefs and why we ( Christians) disagrees with him. But Todd Friel doesn’t talk about the book itself and what is in the book. I don’t think you should bash the book because of his beliefs if they aren’t really represented in the book….

It’s such a shame so many christian are being drawn into such heretical books. Makes me angry sometimes.

It’s awesome God has raised up guys like Todd Friel to defend the Truth.

Tolerance (false grace) is now elevated over truth.

And compassion for hurting and lost people is now elevated over the Word of God.

The Kingdom of Niceness is the seeker friendly place to camp…not the Kingdom of Righteousness or holiness.

Yes indeed Joel there are many SBC pastors who would embrace The Shack. However, I do not think the SBC has officially endorsed the book. I told my congregation that if they read it, to read it alongside the Bible. I pointed out the heretical views of The Shack and to be wary of jumping on every passing spiritual fad. It’s sad that Eugene Peterson compared it to Pilgrim’s Progress. Oh brother! I think it is high time that someone with literary talent write fiction that communicates the Gospel with the same clarity and quality of John Bunyan. That way we could point people to a better example of Christian Fiction. If you know of any good Christian Fiction, let me know.

This SBC pastor does not give out The Shack to his congregation. You should not make comments that infer that all SBC churches endorse The Shack. In fact, Albert Mohler called The Shack heretical.
