For as long as I can remember, there’s been a saying, and in large part it has held to be true. “As California goes, so goes the rest of the nation.”
If that’s true, it’s past time to pray.
In the last few days alone, look at the ungodliness going on, from high levels of government to the streets…
First, in San Diego…A pastor and his wife are threatened for holding bible studies at home, and with huge fines to boot if they continue…read more about it here.
Then, what appears on the surface to be a victory for those holding to the Biblical mandate for marriage as 1-man, 1 woman, the California Supreme Court upholds a decision to ban same-sex marriage.
Is that a good thing? Sure. But don’t sigh relief. That decision alone has sparked rallies all over California, and holds the promise to spread across the country by gay, lesbian and transgender groups nationwide.
Evil doesn’t rest, and the apostles of wickedness never sleep. It’s true. Satan is the most diligent preacher of all time.
Rallies in California are urging everyone “not to give up the fight”, yet no one truly expects the battle to end anytime soon. This is not a battle simply between ideologies folks. This is the war between good and evil, and it’s nothing new. But it is getting worse as we close deeper into the latter days.
Gospel. That’s what California needs more than anything. The Gospel. It’s what we all need! Yes, Christians too. Unbelievers need it because it is the power of God to salvation, and Christians need it because the Gospel is the power of God for our sanctification. The Gospel. It’s everything, literally.

No, they do not and if you live in California, the easy path appears to be to just move out and go elsewhere. But, there is something you have written here that humbles me. The Gospel. It IS the power of God unto salvation for those that are unbelievers. As wickedness and evil continues in the great state of California, those of us that are believers have been given a wonderful opportunity by the Lord. To reach the lost with the Gospel.
Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
and then 2:41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
Not all that heard this sermon of Peter’s received Christ that day, only some. He did his part. God did the rest.
There is a huge open field out there of sinners that need to hear the Gospel. I’ve decided that even though moving sounds glorious right now, God has given me the opportunity to preach the Gospel and allow his Holy Spirit to work in hearts. So, that’s what I’m going to continue to do until He moves me elsewhere. Thanks for the post! Please continue to pray for the Faithful that live in the great state of California. Pray that we will remain true to His Word and unwavering in our commitment to give the Gospel at every opportunity.
