Universal service I’m not aware of…when was this the standard? I am not wanting this at all for my kids given those who do run things now.
Much of what is being said in this video I am in agreement with. Thanks for posting it!
I don’t think universal service was ever a standard in our country. I know it was discussed heavily, but am unaware of any national requirement in our history. Good question! I’ll look into it.
I think the actor in the clip, Bob Basso (funbobbasso on YouTube) chose to portray Thomas Paine because Paine is considered to have been one of the first to use media against those in power. And for the record, Thomas Paine would be the last person I’d recommend for theological studies! He was a diest, and didn’t hesitate to denounce Christian doctrine. In our day, people almost equate being ‘conservative’ with being a Christian, and we are often likewise guilty in looking at our patriots of long ago!
